A few years ago, my brother fell down when he tried to step down a platform coming out of a food store. My brother tore his tendons and suffered permanent damage to his knee cap. After spending two months in the hospital and recuperating at home (for a year), we decided to take legal action. We contacted one lawyer, he said it wasn't worth pursuing and discouraged us from taking any legal action. We then spoke to another lawyer to obtain a second opinion. Again, we received a negative view and were discouraged from pursuing any legal action. As a result, we decided to leave it alone and continue our lives. When I woke up in Sunnybrook hospital 8 years ago, I could not understand why there was this big cast covering my entire leg, and I had no idea that I had survived a serious accident about five days ago.
